Delegation from Asian University Visits Baraka Ship Recycling Yard in Sitakunda
A delegation from Asian University for Women and the University of Tokyo visited a shipbreaking yard in Sitakunda to gain direct insight into Bangladesh’s ship recycling industry and to learn about the internal migration of workers and their working conditions.
On Monday (March 9) at around 10:00 AM, the students visited the Baraka Ship Breaking and Recycling Yard, located on the coastal area of Chowdhury Ghat, Shitalpur, Sonaichhari Union in Sitakunda, Chattogram, as part of a Women Exchange Program. The delegation consisted of 15 students, 2 teachers, and a total of 40 members, including students from the Asian University for Women, who participated in the educational visit to gain practical knowledge.
